Men have played a huge role in holistic aromatherapy since its onset. The term aromatherapy was originally coined in the early 20th century by René-Maurice Gattefossé, a French male chemist. Robert Tisserand is the English aromatherapist who is hugely responsible for bringing the knowledge of aromatherapy to English speaking nations.
The above essential oils are generally considered favorites amongst men. This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list, and every man has his own unique preferences.
In terms of skincare, tea tree is a great multi-tasking essential oil. It’s an effective natural antiseptic and antifungal product and can be applied directly onto insect bites, stings or blemishes to help heal skin imperfection. Tea tree is also great for oily skin, especially when used in a blend with lemon and lavender oils.
Only two essential oils can be applied directly onto the skin: tea tree oil and lavender oil. All others need to be diluted with carrier oils before being applied to the skin.
