Welcoming a new Baby: 3 Crystals to place in a Baby’s room

Welcoming a new baby into the world is a magical time. Creating a space for baby that helps them to feel secure and happy allows the transition from being totally connected to mum to being in their own space easier.

For each of my 3 kids, I put together this simple set of stones and grided under their cot on the floor or beneath their mattress. I used Rose Quartz, Moonstone and Amethyst as the work a treat and are readily available.

Rose Quartz is like a warm snuggle for little ones that helps baby adjust to the new experience of being separate from mum. Position a piece of rose quartz in each of the 4 corners of the cot, on the floor or under the mattress. As baby starts to move around on their own you can move them to the corners of the room.

The Amethyst can go under the mattress, one in each corner and the moonstone under the mattress in the centre of the cot. Amethyst soothes, calms and protects babies from all the new energies they are adjusting to and as they slumber between worlds.

Moonstone is also good for baby as it protects them as they merge into the physical especially as they spend lots of time withdrawing and re-entering their body through sleep time. Place a small moonstone in the centre of the cot under the mattress or a bigger one on the floor.

Please note for safety is always the utmost concern with little ones; as soon as baby can sit up and there is a possibility of them lifting the corners of the mattress, you will need to move the crystals, as tasting sparkly crystals is something we dont want.

To get the crystals to work together to hold the space for baby, we need to activate the grid we have laid out. A grid is where you have multiple crystals combined and each of them join forces to create a larger field of energy than each can do on their own… like a community coming together for a cause.

We do this first by invoking the Light of Creation. The crystals hold the light within them, so does everything, including you and baby. Say to yourself ‘I invoke the Light of Source’ you might feel the light, see the light or get nothing… just know that the purest form of loving energy is working with you.

Then you need to take that energy and move it towards the crystals or to channel it. Say ‘I am a clear and perfect channel of the light’ and feel the light moving through you. Again just know its happening even if you cant feel it.

Then with intent (what we want the grid to do), ask the crystals to providing a loving and nurturing space where baby feels safe, a space that is clear and protected with light and love. You can ask for anything you would like the crystals to do – this is just an example.

This is a simple, yet powerful grid, working with cuboidal energies, or the frequency of earth to create a solid foundation… it is invoking the 4 directions, the 4 elements to ground those frequencies. It is a building block that we are creating. This is just to give you an idea of what is part of the process, not to overwhelm you.

You are now ready to activate the grid. Starting in the North position (find due north and choose the crystal closest to it) you send the white light of source to the 1st Rose Quartz crystal, then going clockwise send that white from the 1st crystal to the 2nd, then to the 3rd, then to the 4th, holding your intent as you go around.

Then you go into the middle to the Amethyst crystal in the North position. You send the white light of source to the first Amethyst crystal, then going clockwise send that white from the 1st crystal to the 2nd, then to the 3rd, then to the 4th, holding your intent as you go around.

Then you go to the Moonstone in the centre and you send the white light of source to the first Amethyst crystal, then back to the Moonstone, then going clockwise send that white from the Moonstone  to the 2nd Amethyst crystal and back, then to the 3rd and back, then to the 4th, holding your intent as you go around.

Then you go back to the Moonstone in the centre and you send the white light of source to the first Rose Quartz crystal, then back to the Moonstone, then going clockwise send that white from the Moonstone  to the 2nd Rose Quartz crystal and back, then to the 3rd and back, then to the 4th, holding your intent as you go around.

Once you finish in the centre, you have created a field of energy by linking all the stones together. It is both layered and solid and ready for baby. Give thanks to the crystals and the Light of Source for helping you.

Are Crystals & Gemstones alive?

Are Crystals & Gemstones alive?
All crystal and gemstones are living organisms. Crystals have a life energy of their own . . . they are alive and usually grow in clusters. They are part of the Mineral Kingdom grown in nature. However, there are some that are synthetically produced. Although crystals are believed to be as old as the history of our planet, I prefer the theosophical explanation of the Mineral Kingdom, which gives us a broader and more in-depth perspective of our relationship with them.

There is a saying,

“The Breath becomes a stone; the stone, a plant; the plant, an animal; the animal, a man; the man, a spirit; and the spirit, a god” (H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Vol. I) which sums up the Theosophical concept of upward evolution.

The Theosophical version of evolution needs to be explained. All of evolution — all of the spiritual progressing of humans, animals, etc. — is part of a flow, a movement of Spirit through the Universe. The Spirit originates from the Absolute, descends to our material world, then begins its return to the Source. There are, then, two distinct paths to this evolution. One is a downward flow, called the Downward Arc. the second flow is the Upward Arc. It is that upward flow that is meant by the word evolution in Theosophical literature. We will now take a closer look at the upward arc that we are very much a part of.

Annie Besant has compared the evolution through the mineral, vegetable, and animal kingdoms to an ante-natal period, and the resemblance is exact. As the child is nourished by the life-streams of the mother, so does the protective envelope of the Group-Soul nourish the lives within it, receiving and distributing the experiences gathered in. The circulating life is the life of the parent; the young plants, the young animals, the young human beings, are not ready for independent life as yet, but must draw nourishment from the parent. And so these germinating lives in the mineral kingdom are nourished by the Group-Souls, by the envelopes of monadic essence, thrilling with Logic life. A very fair picture of this stage may be seen in the carpel of a plant, in which the ovules gradually appear, becoming more and more independent. When the group-soul is ready, it is guided by Devas to the plant kingdom for plant manifestation.

“The minerals manifest consciousness by their attractions and repulsions, by their holding together of particles, by their affinities for each other, by their repellings of each other, but they show none of that consciousness that can be called the recognition of the ‘I’ and the ‘not-I’ [the human ability to have self-awareness].” (Annie Besant, Dharma).
Nevertheless, the responses of consciousness to external stimuli in the mineral kingdom are far greater than many quite realise, and some of them are of a nature which shows that there is a dawning of consciousness also in the astral permanent atom.

“With every day, the identity between the animal and the physical man, between the plant and man, and even between the reptile and its nest, the rock, and man, is more and more clearly shown, the physical and chemical constituents of all being found to be identical. Chemical Science may well say that there is no difference between the matter which composes the ox, and that which forms man. But the occult doctrine is far more explicit. It says: Not only the chemical compounds are the same, but the same infinitesimal invisible Lives compose the atoms of the bodies of the mountain and the daisy, of man and the ant, of the elephant and of the tree which shelters it from the sun. Each particle – whether you call it organic or inorganic – is a Life.”

Selecting a personal crystal
All crystals ‘vibrate’ on their own individual frequency. The frequency they send out will determine which crystal you will chose at a certain point in your life. You do chose different crystals as your needs change.

When you chose a crystal – it seems to ‘call’ to you as if it has been waiting for you. This is because you and that crystal are on the same frequency. The crystal will ‘catch your eye’ and you will feel an immediate connection, even if it is not the crystal you came for. When you hold the crystal in your hand, you will feel a connection of frequency. Some people find crystals. Some people ‘feel’ that crystals find them.

The Beautiful Amethyst

The legend of the origin of amethyst comes to us from Greek myth. Dionysius, the god of intoxication, was angered one day by an insult from a human and swore revenge on the next mortal that crossed his path. Violent tigers should carry out his wish. Amethyst, a beautiful young maiden on her way to pay tribute to the goddess Diana was to become the victim. Diana turned Amethyst into a stature of pure crystalline quartz to protect her from the brutal claws. Dionysus wept tears of wine in remorse for his action at the sight of the beautiful statue. The god’s tears stained the quartz purple, creating the famous gem.

Amethyst is the most precious and valuable stone belonging to the quartz group of minerals. It is recognized as the official birthstone for the month of July. Amethyst belongs to the macro crystalline branch of quartz and owes its violet-purple color to iron and aluminum impurities. Without such coloring agents, amethyst would simply be transparent, ordinary colorless quartz. Like other varieties of macrocrystalline quartz, amethyst has transparent to translucent clarity and a vitreous luster. Cryptocrystalline varieties almost always occur with translucent to opaque clarity.

Since purple is considered one of the royal colors, amethyst has quite a historical importance as an insignia of power. Fine amethysts are featured in the British Crown Jewels and they were also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty. Amethyst also holds a high place in the ranks of the Christian church and was referred to as “the stone of bishops”. The Greek word “amethystos” translates into “not drunken” and it was often worn as an amulet to protect against intoxication. Since amethyst was considered an antidote against drunkenness, many wine goblets were carved from amethyst stone.

In artificial light, amethyst does not display its best color. Amethyst looks best under daylight and more precisely, particularly after sunrise but before sunset, when the light is soft and warm. Amethyst is distinguished by it’s violet-purple colors. The best specimens should have a deep purple color and good saturation with minimal color zoning.

The most important amethyst deposits are in Brazil, namely the “Palmeira” amethysts of Rio Grande do Sul and the “Maraba” amethysts of Para. Other significant amethyst deposits are located in Bolivia, Canada, India, Madagascar, Mexico, Myanmar (Burma), Namibia, Russia, Sri Lanka, United States (Arizona), Uruguay and Zambia.

In Antiquity, as well as in the Middle Ages, people believed that the cosmos is reflected in gemstones. The amethyst is assigned to the planet Neptune. The esoteric movement revived the ancient believe and the gem industry made it another marketing tool to promote certain gems.

The healing powers of gems remain a controversial issue, but are mentioned for centuries by healers, shamans and medicine men. Whether its a fact or a placebo effect, it doesn’t really matter as long as it helps or benefits those who wear them. To achieve the most benefit from your gemstone, it is suggested to wear the stone in direct contact with the skin contact, especially the targeted troubled area of the body. Amethyst is said to be of help for headaches, pancreas, backache and alcoholism.

Amethyst is ideal for any type of jewelry design because it is considered both hard and durable. Amethyst stones are typically worn as pendants, necklaces or rings. Due to amethyst having a purple-violet color, many believe that amethyst should be worn by feminine personalities. However, purple is a color of royalty and royalty has no gender preference. Therefore, it is an excellent choice of stone for man or woman. Amethyst is harder than most other materials, so it is very resistant to wear and tear.
